First Time Hair Products!
And dryer?
Hey loves! I hope you're doing amazing today. Today's blog post is a tad bit out of the ordinary. Yes, i'm natural, but I rarely post entire blog posts about it, and I NEVER do braid outs. To be truthful, I can't braid sis! (don't laugh). Everything about this post is new. From the products I used, to the style, and drying process.
product review
So, let's get started. I first washed my hair using the Hair Milk Cleansing Conditioner, which I loved! Co-washing your natural hair is simply cleansing it with a conditioner, but not all conditioners make your hair feel clean. this one actually did! It always smells very pleasant. It left my hair clean and soft to touch.
Once I washed with with the cleansing conditioner, I followed up with the Hair Milk Original leave-in Moisturizer. Upon squeezing some in my hand, it was pretty thick and I figured a little goes a long way. Which was correct, but it also blended in my hair easily.
For the styler, I used the Hair Milk Styling Pudding, another gem that I enjoyed! I can even see myself using this styler on a Wash n go! I had heard so many great things about Carol's Daughter and this line in particular, and I must say for myself, I'm very impressed! I will definitely be using all 3 of these products time and time again.
styling
I detangled each section after applying both the leave-in and styler before braiding and adding a perm rod.
Here is the consistency of the Styling Pudding, very creamy and easily melted into my hair.
As I mentioned earlier, I don't know how to braid. I used a very simple 3 strand braid method. You know, the one you used when you were 5! (lol).
Here is what my hair looked like after I was finished!
DRYING
I definitely underestimated this thing! Mind = BLOWN
Okay, so I may or may have not totally underestimated this dryer. I usually allow my hair to air dry, which takes hours on end, if not the entire day! This dryer has become my new best friend. My hair was dry in about 45 minutes versus an entire day. It was also extremely easy to use, with multiple settings to adjust to your own comfortability. Another great fact about this dryer is, it all packs away easily. The hose and bonnet simply go back into the dryer!
bop or flop?
So loves, overall I have to say I loved this entire process. None of the products smelled unpleasant, no flakiness, and no damp hair! As far as the braid out, I definitely have some work to do haha! But, I'm happy with my results! What do you think? Comment below!
As always, I hope I've encouraged you to just be you. Even with your hair!
XoXo,
